Christian Chidi Ekemezie

Christian attended Station Primary School (Formerly St. John’s Elementary School), Agbani, Nkanu West Local Government Area. Thereafter, he attended Holy Ghost Juniorate, Ihiala (a Catholic junior seminary school). He later completed his secondary education at Boys Secondary School, Umueze Akwunanaw, Nkanu west Local Government Area.
Christian between 1987 and 1991 studied law at the University of Benin, Benin City. Attended the Nigerian Law School, Victoria Island, Lagos and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1992. Immediately after National Youth Service in 1993 and without any pupilage, he established his law firm C. Chris Ekemezie and Associates. He later moved to Canada with his family in 2012, where he studied at the Osgoode Hall Law School, the law faculty of the York University Toronto (reputed to be the best law school in Canada). He is a spy police officer.
Has over 32 years significant experience and exposure in legal practice in Nigeria and in Canada, and focuses his practice on Corporate & Commercial Practice, Real Estate and Infrastructure, Negotiating Complex Transactions and Drafting Multiple Transaction Documents, including Agreements for PPP arrangements, Arbitration & ADRs, Oil and Gas Litigation, Insolvency & Debt Recovery, Corporate Restructuring Litigation, Legal Due Diligence, and Enforcement of Foreign Judgments & Arbitral Awards.
Has led the teams that handled many complex commercial litigations, complex negotiations and transactions, and international commercial arbitrations multinational companies, international oil companies (IOCs), financial institutions, and construction and manufacturing companies, and telecommunication companies through various fora, including arbitrations and ADR, regulatory and administrative engagements, crisis management approaches, and out of court settlements.
Christian Chidi Ekemezie is married to Bosede Ekemezie. His marriage is blessed with three children.
