Major General Nuhu E Angbazo (Rtd)

Major General Nuhu E Angbazo (Retired) was born in Keffi, Nasarawa State, Nigeria on 29th January 1967 to the family of HRH Dr Bala A. Angbazo. On completion of his primary and secondary education, he proceeded to the Nigerian Defence Academy and enrolled as a member of 36 Regular Course in 1984. He was commissioned Second Lieutenant in 1989 into the Nigerian Army and served meritoriously for 35 years until his voluntary retirement on 1 January 2022.
He holds a Bachelor Degree in Military History from the Nigerian Defence Academy. He obtained a Master’s Degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, a Master’s degree in International Security Studies from King’s College London, and a Master’s Degree in Strategic Management Policy Studies from Nigerian Defence Academy. He attended the prestigious Royal College of Defence Studies in the UK for his strategic level leadership training, where he was the first African to win the Strategic Leadership Award since its inception for being identified as a strategic leader of a future. He has constantly remained in the top bracket on several courses attended both at home and abroad. He is a recipient of many medals and awards.
In his military service, he was a seasoned military officer, who held Command, Staff and Instructional appointments in the Armed Forces. Notably, he served as Nigerian Defence Adviser to the Republic of Mali with concurrent accreditation to Republics of Gambia, Senegal, Mauritania, Cape Verde and Western Sahara, with positive impact on the effectiveness of the diplomatic body for peace and conflict to the credit of Nigeria. He was also Head of Civil-Military Affairs Department of Headquarters Nigerian Army, galvanized the activities of the department with its robust and bold engagement of the civil populace both within and outside the shores of the country. He was also
General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division, Nigerian Army Jos, overseeing the security of five (5) States under his command namely, Plateau, Bauchi, Gombe, Adamawa and Taraba. After his tenure of duty as GOC, the General was also the Head of Training and Operations for Nigerian Army, coordinating and commanding all Nigerian Army training and military operations both in and outside Nigeria.
He has been privileged through these various leadership roles to further develop his skills in the art of project management and diplomacy. Based on his leadership qualities and his devotion to duties, he has been called upon for further leadership roles. Presently, He is the Executive Vice Chairman, Northfield Infrastructure Limited and Chairman/Co-founder of FAO Security Services Limited. His sector expertise includes, Security Consultancy, Public Administration, Diplomacy, Project
Management, Civil-Military Cooperation, Peacekeeping and peacebuilding, Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration. General Angbazo (Retired) is happily married to Dr Dorcas Angbazo and blessed with three boys and a girl. His hobbies include; reading, writing, wide life gazing and Golf.
