Major General Nuhu E Angbazo (Retired) was born in Keffi, Nasarawa State, Nigeria on 29th January 1967 to the family of HRH Dr Bala A. Angbazo. On completion of his primary and secondary education, he proceeded to the Nigerian Defence Academy and enrolled as a member of 36 Regular Course in 1984. He was commissioned Second Lieutenant in 1989 into the Nigerian Army and served meritoriously for 35 years until his voluntary retirement on 1 January 2022.

He holds a Bachelor Degree in Military History from the Nigerian Defence Academy. He obtained a Master’s Degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, a Master’s degree in International Security Studies from King’s College London, and a Master’s Degree in Strategic Management Policy Studies from Nigerian Defence Academy. He attended the prestigious Royal College of Defence Studies in the UK for his strategic level leadership training, where he was the first African to win the Strategic Leadership Award since its inception for being identified as a strategic leader of a future. He has constantly remained in the top bracket on several courses attended both at home and abroad. He is a recipient of many medals and awards.
